BS Media and Communication

Overview Road Map

Media and communication is one of the fastest-growing disciplines of the social sciences which has created a huge demand for professionals well versed in all mediums of communication. The media industry is leading the way in the communication revolution that is sweeping across the world. A society rich in information has become an essential need for socio-political and socio-economic stability of any nation. The socio-political and economic stability of any nation depends greatly on the richness of information and its proper management.

BS 4-Year newly designed Undergraduate Program with three different areas of specialization has been introduced by the new management of School of Media and Communication Studies, a broad-based approach to fulfill existing and emerging communication needs of the dynamic Pakistani society. Our goal is oriented to prepare our graduates to manage the media and communications industry with a complete understanding of the dynamics of the emerging digital world and start their careers with full confidence in their skills and abilities acquired at UMT.

 

This program is spread over a period of 4 years, divided into 8 semesters with a total number of 132 credit hours and the following three areas of Specializations:

  1. Communication & Research and Journalism Studies
  2. Film, Theater and Broadcast (Radio, TV) Studies
  3. Advertising & Public Relations and Digital Media

 

 

Admission Requirements

Minimum 45% marks at Intermediate level or equivalent

No third division in Matric

Equivalence Certificate from IBCC in case of O Level and A-Level

UMT Entrance Test / Interview is mandatory
